INCORPORATION AND CHURCH PROPERTY

Articles of Association of The African Union Church, in
Wilmington, State of Delaware.
ARTICLE
I
The
style and title of this corporation shall be the "Union Church" of
African Members at Wilmington, Delaware, and Scotland Hill, David Smith, Jacob
March, Benjamin Webb, John Simmons, John Kelly, and Peter Spencer, Members of
the said Church (now duly elected) and their Successors duly qualified and
elected as hereinafter directed shall be Trustees for the purposes and with the
powers and privileges hereinafter granted of the said Corporation and of all
and every other Church or place of meeting for public worship shall at any time
hereafter become the property of this Corporation.
ARTICLE
II
The said
Corporation shall have, hold, possess and enjoy the temporal property which
they have at this time or shall hereafter acquire. In trust for the Religious
uses of the Ministers and Preachers of the said "Union Church" for
them and their African Brethren and their descendants of the African Race, and
also for the Ministers and Teachers of theAfrican Brethren duly licensed and
ordained according to the Discipline adopted by this
corporation.
ARTICLE
III.
The said
Trustees nor their Successors shall not deed or otherwise dispose of any part
or portion of the Estates, real or personal, which may be bested in the said
Corporation; nor Mortgage nor Pledge the same for payment of any debts by them
contracted to any person or persons whomsoever, unless the same shall be done
with the consent of two-thirds of the regular members of the said
corporation.
